Why ClubZ! Academy for ISEE & SSAT Prep
We start by clarifying which test ISEE or SSAT best fits the student's target schools and strengths, then build a prep plan tailored to that specific exam.
Our tutors explain the scoring nuances that make these tests unique, including the SSAT's wrong-answer penalty and the ISEE's percentile ranking system.
We use real practice materials at the correct level to simulate the actual test experience and build the confidence students need on admissions test day.
About the SSAT & How to Register
The SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) is a standardized test used for admission to independent and private elementary, middle, and high schools, offered at three levels: Elementary (grades 3-4), Middle (grades 5-7), and Upper (grades 8-11). It measures verbal reasoning, quantitative skills, and reading comprehension, and includes an unscored writing sample that is sent to schools alongside the score report. Unlike most standardized tests, the SSAT is available in both paper-and-pencil and computer-based formats, giving families the flexibility to choose whichever method suits their student best. Students register through ssat.org, where they can find test dates, select between test-center and at-home proctored options, and review the fee schedule.
The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) is administered by ERB and is also accepted by many private schools alongside or instead of the SSAT. Students register for the ISEE at erblearn.org. We can help families decide which test is the better fit for their target schools.
The Three SSAT Levels
- Elementary Level: for children currently in 3rd and 4th grade applying for admission to 4th and 5th grade.
- Middle Level: for children currently in grades 5 to 7 seeking admission to grades 6 through 8.
- Upper Level: for children currently in grades 8 to 11 applying for admission to grades 9 through PG (post-graduate).
